Turns Out Monsters Do Exist
Pro-bono / Campaign
The internet can be a source of great wonder, education, and fun, but unfortunately there's a flip side. It can also be hurtful and dangerous. More often than not young people ages 10-16 experience all manner of abuse and harassment online. We took it upon ourselves to try and do something about it.
There’s a lot of organizations offering valuable information but none of it seemed to be appealing to tweens nor have that break through quality (in our opinion). So we took a step back and came up with an idea and a visual that is eye-catching, and somewhat true — on the other end of the line might live a monster. We stayed away from bright colours and cartoon-like imagery and went very raw and rough. Hand-carved masks, homemade costumes, dirty old paper and untrained type. We provide each monster with an MO and a typical ugly moment to go along with the copy that was true to what many kids have experienced.
Unfortunately this pro bono project came to a standstill when one of our partners pulled out, so sadly these have not gone public yet, but we are hopeful that we will soon find a not-for-profit that will get on board with us.
